Pa speaker system

Older unpowered speakers are cool. It's looking like I'm leaning toward the powered speakers probably. Looking for one that plays overall music and beats really well more than just projecting vocals or a live band.

  3. Metro sound and light is still a place?
Haven't been in there in a while.
Seems like they'd be the ones to straighten out what you're after.

  4. About to sell a loud and compact PA system.
    Want mine?

  5. Yeah definitely gonna check out metro sound and light cause I was looking at cool light systems on line and def need to hit them up. Anyone ever use those cool flexible led drape display things or goofy dj lights?

  6. @airloom I mignt wants it. Is it bumping? Like good for live music and beats and not just like for vocals and what not? What are we talking here?

Ditto. I'm curious. I have powered speakers but I am going to need something different for amplifying mics and computers than the DJ mixer I currently have on hand. I'm helping a group cobble together a mobile A/V set up for just speakers/vocals and computer video presentations with audio. Don't need anything fancy but I thought I'd put it out there in case someone is looking to get rid of gear.

  9. I want to get 2 Mackie thump 1000w 12" powered speakers. They're well reviewed and will work as monitor speakers post-event. Any thoughts on powered subs or mixers?? THanks!

I like my Mackie VLZ4 series mixer, the onyx pre-amps are nice and there's no FX to mess with the signal path. Very straight forward operation, I have the smallest one (402VLZ4) and it;s pretty flexible for a dj/vocal PA. You'll need to decide how many channels you want

Sub in the set up I mentioned above for the wedding it was a QSC 18"

  11. Was just doing some online shopping (guitar center, musician's friend, sweetwater, etc...). There's some decent deals out there for Memorial Day.

Picked up 2 15" 1000w Mackey thumps and a Mackie profx12 mixer for memorial sale. It's pretty thumpin.

  13. If the board still exists after my midlife crisis perhaps I'll sell it on here, we'll see.

  14. friends.
    sorry I didn't reply.
    my phone is fucked.
I have both a powered PA mixer and external power amps.
@zom what are you looking for? Everything has a price.

  15. The 15"s are pretty loud but I wouldn't mind a powered sub if anyone is looking to rid themselves.
