Lol @jenn not about fitness but last night I drank like 4 pineapple mojitos and I was trying to send u a message that said "u are so funny you should be a standup comedian" and could not figure it out how to press send on my phone. So it just kept sending the thumbs up. Lol just wanted to explain. Typing this here tho cause I still don't know how to send it. Fitness or health wise tho wow I got a recipe for cauliflower steaks from the newest bon appetit magazine so stoked to try. Thinking lately about eating good things and being mindful.
@jenn @remodeling It's fair to assume, based on the time frame you mentioned, that because you developed that musculature while your body was developing, your body holds onto it much easier and longer than newer areas that you're working as an adult.
Ah that totally makes sense. I also have like crazy strong forearms I think from grouting tile for my dad on weekends as a kid/teen. I wish I did more squats when I was young
I don't really know much about he like biology or whatever irt muscle and fat, but I've noticed that my muscles never go away. I have muscular legs from playing soccer for 15 years, and haven't played since I was 20. And my back muscles are insane. Like the ridge of my spine is like an inch deep, probably from swimming competitively for 20 years... haven't swam in years and still there. Haha anyone know how this works?
Haha I lost 40 lbs when I started working at a shelter cleaning up animals. Cleaning is totally a workout! I'm like in the 20,000 steps a day category
Point 8 is so good. I wasn't getting enough sleep for like weeks in a row because I have this wacky work schedule, and spent like two weeks retraining my sleep times. Huge positive effect on mood and like motivation. Also, organization is what I'm really working on. I have ADHD too and it really manifests in like losing things, always running late, forgetting appointments. Do you have any more tips on that part? Like details of u could haha
well well well i thought this board had finally kicked it. ;)
jenn, what are some good ways to help w/ staying committed to fitness and sports when your life is really busy and overwhelming and exhausting? also, do u know of any good bw fitness programs? maybe stuff that is like more measurable and easy to see progress?
@brilly I work as a software engineer at an "internet of things" startup. I do the internet of the "iot" but our company has mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and interested tinkerers and a full lab for doing anything you'd want, 3d printing, cad, circuits etc. Check out IoT fuse hack nights . It's for anyone interested in this stuff. if you want to pm me I can give you even more info.
Thats really cool. Im trying to volunteer at eyeo haha to go for free.
what! that is so cool, what do you do? i'm thinking of shifting my academic focus to something in this field. I'm pretty new and have been spending like any free time I have learning programming languages, software, 3d print techniques, electronics... I love it so much. The style of problem solving that is useful for this is so cool and fun to me. do you have any advice?
