4.4.08 Update

Spring has finally sprung and that means it's time for bands to get the van tuned up, scrounge some gas money together and hit the road. His Mischief and Vampire Hands have done just that, both having extensive tours setup this Spring.

His Mischief Live

His Mischief will head west, starting their tour in Omaha for a show with Saddle Creek's Ladyfinger. They'll then work their way up and down the coast for a few weeks ending back in the Midwest for a show in Fargo with Twin Cities' own Heroine Sheiks. For the most up-to-date tour info visit www.myspace.com/hismischief.

Vampire Hands live

Vampire Hands leave this weekend to span the country for a month. The band will first head east ending with two shows at New York's Irving Plaza and Williamsburg Music Hall with Twin Cities band Tapes n' Tapes. Then the band will head back across the country for a west coast excursion. For the most up-to-date tour info visit www.myspace.com/vampirehands.

Both the bands return home just in time for the Modern Radio 9 Year Anniversary. More info on those events will come in the next few days.

3.18.08 Update

Vampire Hand's record release show for Me & You Cherry Red is this Friday, March 21 at the Turf Club. The LPs are now available for mail order, and will be arriving at local stores and distributors in the coming weeks.

Everyone is back home and safe from SXSW. Despite some admirable efforts, no one got arrested or severely injured, for that we are thankful. We are also thankful for all the people responsible for making Minnesota Migration so much fun and a huge success in it's first year. We sincerely appreciate each and every band for making the time and monetary commitment to travel down to Austin for the event. Thanks to The Plastic Constellations, Doomtree, STNNNG, Chooglin', Birthday Suits, His Mischief, Vampire Hands and Private Dancer. DJs Mike and Wes did a awesome job spinning between bands. It was also exciting to see Knife World and MC/VL roll up and perform gorilla style on the side. The Dog and Duck Pub were gratious hosts and provided a impressive setup for the venue.

Thanks to all the MN companies and organizations involved as well. Summit Brewing Co. for supplying beer to our staff and performers, also for sponsoring our collapsible beverage holder giveaway. Much thanks goes to the Turf Club for sponsoring our MN Migration CD compilation. Once again, Dan Black from Landland did a awesome job designing the logo for the event and laying out the CD. Thanks to Wes from Burlesque for designing and printing the unbelieveable posters. Special thanks also goes to First Avenue, IndieTickets.com, Radio K, Noiseland and XLR8R for their continued support. Finally, thanks to everyone who attended the event. It was great to see so many familiar faces. We had a lot of fun doing this.

2.20.08 Update

We are excited to be helping Vampire Hands release their newest record entitled Me and You Cherry Red. This will be a limited pressing of 300 records that include the CD. Artwork for this record is designed and screen printed by Danimal of Gay Beast. The release show will be at the Turf Club, sponsored by The Onion and Radio K, Friday, March 21 with MC/VL, Private Dancer, Finger Pressure and Gospel Gossip. The band will be in constant support of the record this Spring, so come out to see them when they hit your town.

Also, in store this Spring/Summer will be new CDs by Mirah (Portland), Yellow Swans (Portland) and Church of Gravitron (Omaha). These CDs will be introduced as part of our 9 Year Anniversary. We will be bringing folks in from around the country, reuniting bands and friends to help celebrate this milestone. 11.22.07 Update

The dust has finally settled on this 5th Lunch Show and it appears to be a huge hit once again. There are so many people we need to recognize for making this day so special. Certainly the bands, STNNNG, Signal To Trust, FT (The Shadow Government) and Weather is Happening for making great music and more importantly, for being awesome people. Thanks to everyone who made food, it was excellent as usual. Also, the staff of First Avenue were gracious hosts. Thank you Dan Black and DWitt for being crazy talented. The records look wonderful. Special thanks to Schedule Two who surprised everyone by including a free DVD of last year's performances with the 7" giveaway. Congratulations to Ezra and Joe for making TEVS the zine a reality. Finally thanks to everyone who braved the long lines and cold weather to spend the day with us.

We've got all the new records up on the site for mail order and will be getting stuff to local stores and distributors after the holiday. Don't hesitate to order because quantities are very limited and selling quickly.

10.31.07 Update

LUNCH SHOW 5!
1st Avenue's 7th St. Entry - Saturday November 17th Doors: noon
Featuring: STNNNG, Signal To Trust & FT (The Shadow Government)
$7 advanced tickets are available at 1st Ave.
includes food and a free split 7” by Signal To Trust and STNNNG

The time is upon us once again for a gathering of good friends, food and music.
It's Lunch Show 5, hosted as always by bands STNNNG and Signal To Trust at First Avenue's 7th Street Entry. Hundreds will enjoy a unbelievable buffet of lunchtime treats provided by the bands and friends. This event seems to get crazier and better every year so it's not to be missed. You may recall last year
as both STNNNG and Signal To Trust celebrated the release of their new albums
and special surprise guests Shellac opened the show to a jubilant audience.

This year is no different as the bands welcome good friends,FT (The Shadow Government) as they celebrate the release of their own record The Black and White Album, on Modern Radio. As if that were not enough, STNNNG and Signal To Trust have recorded a very limited split 7" that will be given away to each person in attendance. Also, due to popular demand, Modern Radio will make available for the first time, a limited pressing of Signal To Trust's Golden Armour
on vinyl. This will be a double LP with packaging by Dan Black, just as, if not better than the CD version. The same lineup for the Lunch Show will play later that evening at the Turf Club in St. Paul for a ID show, with the addition of Weather is Happening from Wichita KS, which includes Dan and Casey (ex-Rickyfitts).

His Mischief has been enjoying some recent accolades including being mentioned in City Pages' Picked To Click, best new band poll. The band has been playing some great local shows with the likes of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Gito Gito Hustler and Ladyfinger. His Mischief has been on several regional tours since the May release of Summer's Eve. Now Sheridan and the Jeff's will hit the road once again, this time out east. They've setup some great shows, with some great bands like Menomena, at some exciting venues such as The Knitting Factor (NY), Black Cat (DC) and First Unitarian Church (Phil). Here are the dates.
